Mario Sughi (also known as nerosunero) is an Italian artist and illustrator living and working in Dublin. Born in 1961, he began to paint under the direction of his father, artist Alberto Sughi. He studied Art History at La Sapienza University, before completing a doctorate in Medieval History at Trinity College Dublin.

In 2007 Sughi began working as an artist full time. Using his own photographs and drawings as inspiration, he creates work using digital media to depict scenes from everyday life capturing small gestures and candid moments.

Minimalist and bright, Sughi's work is modern and reminiscent of British Pop Art. His style is very precise, creating a new pictorial language that reflects the mundane and non-events in a way that captivates the viewer.
