KART021837.jpg Anne van Dorpe
Anne has been drawing and painting for as long as she can remember. Originally from Belgium, she first came to Ireland in 1979 on a painting course in the Burren in Co Clare. There she fell in love with the landscape - and with an Irishman - and moved to Ireland in 1982.
Anne works part time as a language teacher, but continues to paint. She is essentially self-taught, although she has occasionally taken part in courses in Belgium, France and Ireland. She has exhibited works in various group shows in Belgium and Ireland and currently attends the Red Line Art Studio in Emo, Co Laois.
Working with watercolours Anne finds her inspiration in everyday nature, whether this is an apple or a pear in the fruitbowl, or trees in the surrounding landscape.
Anne is married to artist Paul Guilfoyle and they live in Abbeyleix, Co Laois.
